What is it?

Fitness Boot Camp is an outdoor fitness program specifically designed to help you Lose Weight, Gain Muscle, Reduce your Body Fat, Get Results! Four weeks of fitness instruction, f nutritional counseling, & motivational training provided by Certified Personal Trainers. This unique experience meets 3 days per week, 1 hour per day for 6 weeks so you stay focused and meet your goals.


What will I get out of it?

Firmer butt and thighs! Flatter/tighter stomach! Increased strength and endurance! Body fat analysis to help you see progress. Personalized weight loss consultation, if you chose


Where is it?

Fitness Boot Camps are held at various parks and hiking trails throughout The Cities of New Haven, West Haven and East Haven, CT. Location include, West Rock Park, Bowen Field, West Haven Beach, East Haven Beach, East Shore Park and other locations. Registrants will choose their preferred camp location and participants will be given locations and directions to locations prior to the camp.


When is It?

Camps begin at 5:30 am sharp or 9:30am and are held for one hour. Each camp will be held for 6 consecutive weeks. See calendar for details


Why Should I sign up?

You will make a dramatic improvement in your physical and mental well-being. In addition, you'll meet great people who share your same passion for acquiring a more healthy body and mind. You will be finished with your training before the rest of the world has even gotten started!


What if I'm not very physically fit?

NOBODY will be left behind or asked to complete more than they are capable of doing safely. Nor will ANYBODY go home UNCHALLENGED! Women of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate. Women of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate. Each week we will slightly increase in intensity and change the type of exercises that are done.


What if I'm already physically fit?

Our Boot Camp is for ALL fitness levels. Everyone works at their own pace.  Everyone will be challenged no matter what fitness level you are at.


What types of exercises are included in the program?

Exercises include: speed walking, yoga, pilates, short distance running (less than one mile), calisthenics, jumping rope, hiking, ball training, push-ups, and more!


What is the cost (investment in myself)?

Each six-week boot camp has a registration fee of $249. That's twenty hours of instruction! It averages out to about $13 per hour. Where else can you get premiere or cutting edge fitness instruction for that incredible price?


Is there a refund policy?

If you are unable to attend camp due to circumstances out of your control, we can offer you a refund if you notify us prior to your session start date however we will charge a $50.00 cancellation fee. If we are notified after your session begins, we can only give you a credit towards another boot camp. This credit is nontransferable. There is no cash refund. This is not negotiable.


Where do I go?

Participants will be given locations and directions to locations every two weeks.


Do I need to bring anything special?

Always bring a bottle of drinking water. In addition, most days you’ll need only your body dressed in exercise clothes and a good pair of running shoes or cross trainers. Shoes will get wet and dirty. Because we will be getting on the ground for various exercises a pair of light exercise pants or knee length shorts and a T-shirt is recommended.


What if it is raining?

You will get wet. Unless the weather is absolutely horrific, we will meet at the location indicated in the daily log.


What if I can’t make it one day?

If I know of your scheduling conflict in advance, it may be possible to make it up on a later date,



What if I miss a day?

You just miss a day.



Will you offer supplemental workouts?

Additional 1 on 1 personal training sessions can be arranged by speaking to the lead instructor. Or you may consider signing up for 2 Boot Camps Simulateously.


What if I am the “slowest/out-of-shapest/clumsiest” person?

Bootcamp is a team event as much as an individual one. I encourage you to do the best that you can do on any given day. Each workout is different than the one before it; where you excel, others might lag, and vice versa. Use this time to learn through observation and risk; and to teach by example. Almost all the exercises can be modified to various fitness levels and abilities. If you need a modification yell out.



What other events are included or offered?

On occasion, there will be special events hosted by BALANCE fitness. These will be educational or community related events which will allow you to learn about health and fitness, contribute to the community, and socialize with other members of the boot camp outside of our daily workout sessions. You will receive more details about special events on the other pages within this website.
